Percentage of money spend on prevention

  • The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina spent small sum for prevention – but not yet budgeted.

Rape

Official data R. Serbia (Republic Institute for Statistics)

  • 2005: 114 reported rape, 68 sentenced rape,
  • 2006: 127 reported rape, 67 sentenced rape,
  • In 2007: 7 women’s organizations had 820 women and girls report any form of sexual violence.

Femicide

  • 2000-2006: in 10 out of 16 communities in Belgrade, reported by police: 20 women killed and 11 femicide attempts (Ministry for Internal Affairs).
  • in 2004 Ministry for Internal Affairs reported 62 women killed and attempted to be killed
  • approximation from the women’s organizations following media reports and their own records: from 50-80 women killed per year by men they know (7, 5 million of inhabitants).

Violence in Family

Official data R. Serbia (Republic Institute for Statistics):

  • In 2005 reported violence in family as criminal act =1397: sentenced = 574.
  • in 2006 reported violence in family as criminal act =2191; sentenced = 1059.

Autonomous Province Vojvodina In 2006, police reported 4248 requests for intervention on violence in family, out of which in 27% misdemeanor charges are asked, and in 10% criminal charges.

Trafficking - Criminal Act

  • In 2005 reported trafficking as criminal act = 68; sentenced = 10.
  • In 2006 reported trafficking as criminal act =50; sentenced = 13.
  • In 2007, 249 persons first time contacted SOS Anti-Trafficking.
